After you try and fail to enter a password into an iOS device plenty times it starts to force a delay before your adjacent try--and then you can't automate the process and endeavor a zillion options. The delay gets longer the more yous endeavour.
This happened to me once when I had a bluetooth keyboard in my haversack (on) and an iPad--the pressure of stuff in the backpack was turning on the iPad and entering any characters again and over again!
The solution is to wait the stated amount of time and apply the right countersign...

Yesterday, at that place was another supplemental update to the Mac OS 10.xiv.6. it is the 2d supplimental update since the release of Os 10.14.vi. The iPad in DFU way can be used to get out of situations similar these if y'all cannot wait it out. Some reports of a baby striking the wrong passcode until it reached 50 years.
